It is quite another to be suddenly aware of it, awake but unable to move, your consciousness shoved back into the body that it once called home. A relief at first perhaps.

But after 36 hours, unable to move, Mir is starting to crack up.]

If I read one more post about how wonderful it is to be awake right now, I will commit murder, I swear.

I don't know, they usually seem way louder about viruses. This one's going by pretty quietly, all things considered.

[ Although Ange just takes everything in stride, honestly. She doesn't even care much about the fact she's not able to sleep - she hasn't been able to sleep well in a long time, either way. She's only seen a few complaints about this virus on the community though at best, including this one. ]

This one is only situationally bad for now. If it goes on for a week, you'll all start hallucinating and know how I feel.

Don't worry. My world is so weird, I already feel like I'm constantly hallucinating. I don't even think my mind can make up something that's even more weird.

I doubt that. If your shoes haven't eaten you or you haven't seen everyone around you turn into lizards, you are missing out on a major part of the hallucination experience.

Replace lizards with "goats" and you're there already. Or is the whole different animal thing really the key point of the experience?

...Okay, you really do have a weird world. I've never actually done heavy drugs, but the stories I've read all involve lizards for some reason.

Maybe lizards just easily pop up in people's subconscious. I bet Freud would have a field day with that sort of thing.

Some sort of psychologist. I can't say I know much about his entire theory, but I've heard it sort of comes down to the fact that he thinks absolutely everything in people's subconscious is related to sex and that kind of stuff somehow.

...from the cosmospheres I've seen, it is all about sex. But that may just be because they belong to young women with needs and desires.

Hey, I'm a young woman too, don't shove us all on the same pile. I could care less about that stuff.

I'm browsing this place through a book, so I don't know if it has a "harddrive" exactly.. [ She does know what computers are though, it's why she's saying it to begin with. ]

But sure, go ahead. I don't think you'd find anything interesting.

[ She's not even lying, it's completely clean if she would look. Ange is boring as hell, you see. ]

Well I don't know how the network works through books, so I'll give this a pass. Your reaction indicates that you're either in stone-cold control or you just don't have anything to hide. Which would be rather boring, so I'll assume you are a worthy opponent.

"Opponent"? You're starting to make all of this sound like some game at this rate.

Games are all I have left.

Now you're starting to sound like one of the witches from my world with their obsession with games. Except they're generally annoying as hell.

If they can walk around, smell the air, and see the sun, they've got less reason than me. Haven't you heard of 'solitary confinement?'

Sure, of course I am. And although normally I'd say it's something they only do to criminals who actually deserve it, some people seemed pretty fond of doing that sort of thing to me too. And I can't say I've actually committed mass murder or whatever.

How depressing. Is there no fairness in the world?

[entreats]

No.

[ She's pretty quick to answer with that, since it's the truth, after all. What did she deserve to lose her family for and then get involved with everything? Just for the sake of some witch's selfishness? ]

That's the way the world works. The people who don't deserve it get whatever they want, while the people who need something the most have it denied to them.

Exactly. There is no fairness in the world-we can only create it with great effort. If we do not believe in this, there is no will to overcome injustice.

[entreats]

.. You really think it's something that can be overcome..? What's one person compared to an entire world?

[former_endboss]

One person can be anything, if they have the will and the ideas to do it. The ideas are key-the right thought can transform the most placid of people into a raving fanatic.

After all, I rose up against injustice and slavery once. And I changed the face of the world. Even bent low and in defeat I know that the world is not the same. Given the chance, I will complete my work.

Ideas and will are one thing, but the most important thing is having the means to carry out those things.. that's what most people lack. [ Like her. ] As long as you don't have the means to change anything, nothing will change. No matter how much you hate it.

A typical excuse from those who lack the will to change things. Means are something you acquire.

More like you just make it sound way easier than it really is. The world's the kind of structure you can't simply find a way to change that easily.

I won't hear such defeatist talk. If the world cuts off my arms and legs, I still have my teeth to bite with.

Well, I guess that just means there's two kinds of people in this world. If they'd cut off my arms and legs, I'd just ask them to go ahead and kill me altogether already. No use doing only a half-assed job.
